Third-party funding enables exciting research projects and is an important part of an academic career. Research Support Services supports and advises you on the acquisition of third-party funding – from choosing the right funding program for you to the final touches on the application process. Our range of services includes:
To help you choose the right funding format for you, we offer research, databases, our information service, and of course personal advice. You will find the respective contact persons on our team page.
We support the application process with strategic feedback, provide advice on project design, and bundle experience with funding agencies. At the same time, we mediate the necessary coordination with the rectorate and involve other administrative units if they are relevant to the respective application, including, by default, the Research Data Service for questions related to research data management. For strategic research projects, we coordinate the application process and accompany the on-site reviews.
If you are interested in highly competitive funding formats such as ERC Grants or Emmy Noether Groups, we will arrange individual application and interview coaching in addition to our advice. If you are interested, please send us an e-mail.
If you plan to coordinate an EU-funded project, we can take over the project management for you on request and support you with interim evaluations and final reports.
We are happy to advise and support you in the development of a personal third-party funding strategy or in the design of a research strategy for your chair, institute, or faculty. Our support also includes the organization and moderation of workshops and financial support for closed conferences.
We offer assistance in applying for third-party funding:

- a list of application deadlines for selected funding agencies and programs (in German only),
- a list of contact persons (in German only),
- and detailed information, text modules, forms, and FAQs in the ServicePortal (in German only).
