Collaborative projects

Collaborative projects offer the opportunity to carry out larger research projects with a consortium. Depending on the funding format, the consortia are made up of scientists from a university or international partners.

The objectives of collaborative projects also vary with the funding formats. Collaborative research centers generally aim to generate new knowledge or develop new technologies or products. International and ministerial collaborative projects place a particular focus on application orientation and social or economic impact. Industrial participation may also be possible or necessary here. Research groups and collegiate research groups work on a joint innovative topic area in several sub-projects. In contrast, doctoral colleges focus on structured doctoral training.
