In order to provide you with ideal information on general research topics, Research Support Services offers its own information services and provides you with access to relevant databases.

FIT Newsletter

Information Service Research, International Affairs, Transfer (FIT)

The Information Service Research, International Affairs, Transfer – FIT for Science (in German only), which can be subscribed to individually, bundles current calls for proposals from a wide range of funding agencies. You can filter these calls for proposals according to your personal preferences, such as subject area, career level, or funding agency. You are also free to decide how often and on which days of the week you would like to receive the FIT newsletter. FIT covers most of the available formats. The exception is ministerial formats, which are unfortunately not always covered; if you are interested in the funding announcements of a specific ministry, we recommend subscribing to the respective RSS feed (feel free to contact us).

For members of TU Dortmund University, the customizable FIT newsletter is free of charge.

Mailing list of Research Support Services

Research Support Services’ mailing list for all matters of research and research career regularly informs you about events of the Research Support Services and the Graduate Center, university-wide calls for proposals, and announcements that might be of interest to you. Please register to be included in the mailing list and to receive further information from us. Of course, you can unsubscribe quickly and at any time.

Information on funding programs

The Information Service Research, International Affairs, Transfer – FIT for Science (in German only), which can be subscribed to individually, bundles current calls for proposals from a wide range of funding bodies and delivers them to you free of charge according to your personal preferences (day of the week and content can be freely selected). The distribution list covers a large part of the available formats. If you are interested in the funding announcements of a specific ministry, we recommend that you also subscribe to the respective RSS feed of the ministries (Feel free to contact us).

The database for Electronic Research Funding Information (ELFI) comprises more than 10,000 different funding formats and calls for proposals from the German-speaking countries. In addition to personal advice, as a member of TU Dortmund University you can use the database for research as well. (Note: Access only from TU Dortmund University network.) Here you will find assistance for research (in German only) with ELFI.

 

If you are looking for foundations that support your research interests, you will find about 11,000 foundations active in Germany in the database of the Federal Association of German Foundations (in German only). Please feel free to contact our team for personal advice and help in making your selection.

Information on scholarships

You can finance your studies and doctorate through various scholarships, which often go hand in hand with non-material support and personal independence.
