Dear researchers,

At the start of this semester we send you warm greetings and news about research and junior researcher support.

We are particularly pleased to be able to present you with yet another expanded program of events starting in the summer semester of 2022: With "Forschung fördern - Funding Week", we have added a new offering to our portfolio: One week long, we will introduce you to central funding formats and inform you about the framework conditions for submitting applications. Several events are planned in English. Another new offering is the "Antragswerkstatt – in einem Semester zur Sachbeihilfe", in which we guide you through a series of workshops on how to apply for a DFG grant. The Graduate Center has also significantly expanded its range of events for doctoral students and postdocs and tailored them even more specifically to the target group.

As usual, you will find more information on these innovations and our other offers in this newsletter and on our website.

We wish you a good start into the summer semester! Please stay healthy and connected to research!

In the new area "Start-up and Transfer", events for doctoral students and postdocs interested in spin-offs and transfer will be offered together with the Center for Entrepreneurship and Transfer (CET) of the TU Dortmund University.

Equally starting in the summer semester, the Graduate Center will bundle its information offerings under the label GZ │info, which is also new. GZ | info events bring topics to the point and convey knowledge in brief and compact form. Two new offerings in this series ─ Your Doctorate at TU Dortmund University  and Framework Conditions for a Successful Doctorate ─ provide an overview for starting a doctorate.

 TU Dortmund Young Academy

This summer semester sees the launch of a new format for the promotion of young researchers at TU Dortmund University: young researchers from the doctoral level onwards can apply for funding for their own project. In addition to financial support, successful applicants will be accepted into the TU Dortmund Young Academy for up to six years, where they can take advantage of various offers.

The coordinating contact person for the program at the TU Dortmund Graduate Center is Dr. Maria Verena Peters.

Welcome to the team

Since January, Marion Kraft has been strengthening the graduate support team by coordinating the development of a career service platform for students. The focus of her tasks is the central bundling and visualization of all offers for students in the field of career services as well as the networking of all involved actors.
