Newsletter header end of summer semester 2021 © TU Dortmund

Dear researchers,

Another semester under pandemic conditions lies behind us and the Corona virus still dominates our everyday life and probably yours as well. Nevertheless, we hope you can look back with satisfaction on a productive semester.

Looking ahead to the coming semester, our events will focus on the topic of “third-party funding”. In addition to the now familiar series “Forschung förden digital” (slightly delayed from January 2022), we are offering two new series: “Forschung fördern Spezial: Drittmittelformate” is a special series for university lecturers at TU Dortmund University that is dedicated to specific funding formats and their acquisition in addition to the lecture series “TU Dortmund im Gespräch”. It starts on 19 October with information on “Querschnittsaspekte in der Antragstellung: Nachwuchsförderung, FDM und Chancengleichheit” (Cross-cutting aspects in the application process: support for early career researchers, research data management, and equal opportunities).

For early career researchers and junior faculty, we also offer specific information events in all departments on how to successfully acquire third-party funding. At this point, we are happy to repeat: Funding opportunities exist for every department.

Also, mark your calendars now for November 5, 2021. On this day, the Graduate Centre will organize the “Doctoral Researchers' Day“, or in short “DocDay” – a day all about doctoral studies. You or your doctoral researchers can learn how to make a doctorate particularly successful, how to gain experience abroad, and how to bring your doctorate to a successful conclusion. You will find the program on the Graduate Center's website in due time.

This fall, we will also be celebrating an anniversary: 5 years of Research Support Services! This is a good opportunity to take another look at what we have to offer. We would also like to ask you for your opinion. Read more in the newsletter at the start of the semester.

We wish you a good lecture-free period!

Yours
Nils Kasties and the team of Research Support Services
