Funding for individuals

In the case of individual funding, the focus is on (early career) researchers and their projects. However, the focus of the evaluation is more on the qualification and potential of the applicants. In the area of individual funding, there are separate programs and formats for the various career phases:

• PhD scholarships for doctoral researchers,
• Research scholarships or “Temporary Positions” for early postdocs,
• ERC Grants for all career phases: Starting Grants for relatively young postdocs, Consolidator Grants for experienced postdocs, Advanced Grants for experienced professors,
• and a junior research group leadership or a Heisenberg professorship for late postdocs.
