HEAD OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Petra Marciniak

Petra Marciniak has many years of experience in EU funding programmes and in applying for and managing EU joint projects.
She has been working as EU Advisor and Project Manager in the Office of Research Support Services (previously in the EU Office) at TU Dortmund University since June 2010, and has been  is Head of Project Development and Management Department since the end of 2019. She is the contact person for EU funding, with a focus on advice on finance and administrative matters, as well as project management of ongoing projects.

Petra Marciniak studied economics and social sciences at the TU Dortmund University, with main focus on controlling and marketing. After graduation, she worked for four years as a controller at SIG Combibloc GmbH, a well-known manufacturer of beverage cartons, and then as assistant to the management of MZT GmbH, a development and manufacturing partner in the mechatronics sector.

Project Development and Management

Annika Schmidtpeter

Annika Schmidtpeter joined the Research Support Services at TU Dortmund University in 2019. In the Project Development and Management team, she initiates and coordinates university-wide third-party funding applications of TU Dortmund University on topics such as diversity and sustainability. She is also responsible for communication and dissemination in on-going EU projects.

After completing her studies in Classics and History at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Annika Schmidtpeter worked as a research assistant in the Cluster “Religion and Politics” at the WWU Münster and gained her first experience in research management. As a consultant at the Service Center for Young Reseachers at Bielefeld University, she provided advice to students and doctoral candidates and supported applications for both postdocs and graduate research fellowships. At TU Dortmund University, Annika Schmidtpeter initially also worked as a funding advisor. One focus of her work was the promotion of international mobility and networking of researchers. Until winter 2021, she was the contact person for departments in the humanities and social sciences.

Grants Services

Dr. Darius Harwardt

Darius Harwardt has been working in Research Support Services in the area of funding advice and EU project management since May 2019. He provides advice on various funding agencies and formats in all phases of application.


Darius Harwardt studied history, biology, and geography at the Ruhr-University Bochum and subsequently received his doctorate in history. He worked as a research assistant at the University of Duisburg-Essen and the Documentation and Research Centre of the Social Insurance Agency in Bochum.
